Andrew Monk
Chief Executive
Andrew is Group Chief Executive with responsibility for growing and managing the Group. He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford and has been in the City for over 20 years working at Smith New Court (now Merrill Lynch) in London and New York, Schroders and Hoare Govett (Now ABN AMRO). Andrew’s background is as an equity salesman and he has built a large client base of fund management groups and hedge funds. He has a reputation for actively helping small cap companies achieve their corporate ambitions and grow accordingly.
Before joining as CEO & Head of Blue Oar plc, Andrew was one of the founders of Oriel Securities and also Joint CEO & Head of Securities.

Bruce Davidson
Head of Research
Bruce joined Blue Oar in May 2007 as head of research and analyst responsible for the Drinks & Tobacco sectors. Over more than twenty years he has worked for Smith New Court/Merrill Lynch, Schroders, SG, Axa Investment Managers, Redburn Partners and, most recently, Insinger de Beaufort.
A previously ranked analyst in Tobacco and Conglomerate stocks, he has also been a head of research on both the buy and the sell sides. He has an economics degree from Heriot-Watt University and a Diploma in Marketing.

Nick Redfern
Head of Equities
Nick has 20 years experience as a broker, having first joined the City in 1987 as a general salesman at Smith New Court (now Merrill Lynch). In 1994 he joined UBS Phillips and Drew to develop the first dedicated FTSE 250 MidCap sales and research team in the City.
Nick joined Dresdner Kleinwort Benson (now Dresdner Kleinwort) in 1997, becoming Managing Director responsible for Pan European Emerging Company Sales (small and mid cap). In 2003 he joined Old Mutual Securities as Head of UK Institutional Sales (later re-named as Arbuthnot Securities).
In 2005 Nick joined Oriel Securities ultimately becoming Head of Sales and Trading. Throughout the period 1994 to date he has compiled as well as marketed the UK's most recognised MidCap periodic research product.

Ian Owen ASI
Executive Client and Settlement Services
Ian Owen joined Blue Oar Securities in September 2004. After graduating with a Diploma in Business & Finance, he began his career with 10 years experience in the middle office of a private client stockbroking firm.
He is responsible for all settlement and back office operations in the Broking department.

Stephen Livermore
Stephen joined Blue Oar Plc in June 2007 as Group Compliance Manager and has assumed compliance oversight for all subsidiaries of the Group.
He had previously spent eight years with private client stockbroker Barratt & Cooke where he was the Compliance and Audit Manager. Prior to Barratt and Cooke, Stephen spent over ten years with the Norwich Union Group where he held various roles within both back office and front office functions. His experience extends through actuarial, sales and marketing, compliance, special investigations, internal audit and internal controls roles.
